Care Instructions - Ficus

Ficus trees are very easy to care for once they are settled into their new environment. After they adjust to their new home, they will thrive in a spot with bright indirect light and a consistent watering schedule.

Happy in virtually any situation that avoids direct blazing sunshine, your Ficus is a beautiful, low-maintenance indoor plant.

In the right conditions, ficus grow fast. If you've got a large kind, this can become troublesome because it can quickly outgrow its space. Regular pruning prevents this and promotes good branching.

Never plant them outside as they are considered invasive and will take over the space very quickly.

During spring and summer when your ficus tree is growing, keep the soil moist. In winter, let it dry out slightly between waterings; stick your index finger up to your first knuckle to test for moisture before watering.

Feed ficus every four weeks with a general-purpose, water-soluble houseplant fertiliser. Immediate watering also forces the fertiliser down to the root zone of the plant. Water from the top of the pot until the excess moisture drains from the bottom.
